Installing Samba is a bit complicated but great resources exist out there to help:

1. Download Samba v2.2.5 (the v2.3 binary for 68k) from Aminet;
2. Read through the INSTALL.AMIGA file, it could save you a lots of troubles later!
3. Follow the steps provided by Mikey_C of Amigans, it works straight out-of-the box for me;
4. My Samba configuration file tells pretty much all about configuring the Amiga side.

Using this configuration, I managed to access the content of the Amiga from the PC directly:

Also, using SMBFS, I can browse the content of the PC directly from the Amiga:
